CIC goes soft on corrupt officers

If recent orders of the present CIC Mr. Mishra are studied one thing crosses the mind that he has limited the role of the transparency watch dog to the availability of some or any information even if trash; provided by the reluctant officers who at times are corrupt and hence have natural instinct to block truthful information. The commission seems to be insensitive to the Preamble of the RTI Act 2005 as well as to the crying facts of wrong, misleading and incomplete information. Now the relevance of the sections 18(e) has been laid to rest quietly.

This has happened repeatedly in cases related with the CAG and other offices under him in the fields.
