Weak Diplomatic Response- Devyani Khobrgade’s Arrest In USA

The Government of India has conveyed its displeasure to the U.S.A. maintaining that rules have been violated in arresting Devyani Khobragade the Indian envoy charged with violating minimum wages laws of the land i.e. America. The anger displayed appears to be a fake one in the face of its timid track records while dealing with the American criminals involved in India.

Warren Anderson the then Union Carbide Corporation chief hailed as the butcher of Bhopal and responsible for putting thousands of people to death, disability, slow & painful deaths and deformed births inflicted by poisonous gas leakage from his factory had been accorded a safe passage  from India to America by the then Rajiv Gandhi government. Anderson just thumbed his nose at the Indian institutions and its law. The successive non-congress governments also followed the same foreign policy of coyness and cowardice and made no efforts to punish the American culprits or to extract optimum compensation for the gas victims. The judiciary also failed.

This great nation has been led at times by timorous leaderships who would suffer bowels upset when frowned at by the Americans. India is now a big economic, military and nuclear power, its people are brave and courageous. We have huge market which no country can ignore; we export scientists, technicians, engineers and medical professionals all over.  It cannot be cowed down any more by either our inimical neighbors or the USA.

The problem is that our political and bureaucratic set-up is made of rotten materials with no sense of self-pride for the country; it is corrupt and shameless too.
