Sir B.N Rau ICS who drafted the Constitution of India had never imagined that politics of intrigues, perfidy and deceptions would come into play since its very inception. And when the Constitution was inaugurated in 1950 the first amendment was made just after a year to make a dent into Article 15 of the fundamental rights which was the most sacrosanct provision of the Constitution. This was the indicator that paved way for committing constitutional frauds in time that came by. Since then the constitution has been polluted, defiled and distorted hundred times.
The politics of reservations is nothing but a conspiracy against the minuscule meritorious. The extension of reservations has not at all ameliorated the living standards of the poor masses belonging to S.C, S.T, so-called backwards or now the minorities. It is only a political strategy to divide and rule the people. Only a handful of beneficiaries have passed the benefits of reservations from one generation to another for a handful of govt. jobs.
The most absurd is the demand for reservation in Lokpal. Have Abul Kalam the missile man and the president, Wajahat the Ex-Cabinet Secretary and CIC, Quraishi the present CEC and other many such personalities not been outstanding? These people have not acquired glory of excellence on the crutches of reservation.

Thousands of tons of wheat have rotten in a Begusarai govt godown juxtaposed with the starving crores. Even the Supreme Court had directed free distribution of such wheat instead of causing rot.
Another news that pains me is that Punjab farmers are forced to burn potatoes for lack of even minimum fair price for their produce. They are forced to sell it @Re 1/kg while in the southern India its price is sky-rocketing. Why are not the Union & the states buying the potatoes at minimum support price and offload it in the parts of the country that are deficient in its production?
It is insensitivity and a mismanagement rather misgovernance.

The Patna news papers today have quoted Nitish as having said that the wrist watch of Rajendra babu will be brought back at all costs.
Some time back in Sotheby’s auction crores of rupees from state exchequer were spent to buy back some utensils etc used by Gandhijee. Again the greedy auctioneers put forth some other articles and this time Vijay Mallya bought the items.
The famous people are also human beings and use thousands of material things in their day to day activities of life. Do we need to retrieve all that by paying crazy amounts out of this poor country’s coffers?    Are we emotionally so weak to be swayed by symbols and tokenism?
This madness must stop and there must be accountability to such wastes of public money whosoever misspends.
Taking care of basic needs of the half of the starving population will certainly give peace to the souls of the great people who sacrificed their all for the sake of the country. The political gimmicks must end.

The flamingos migrate to temperate zones of climate in India to escape excessively low temperature and harsh conditions of Siberia during the winter. Today I am very sad to learn that 400 hundred such pretty guest birds have died after they came into contact with high voltage electric wires in Gujarat. The government and the environmentalists must devise way to ensure a safe habitat for the migratory flamingos

The proposed bill for enactment of Communal and Targeted Violence Act- 2011 is most abominable, sinister, anti-national and communally divisive piece of legislation. All Indians especially the M.Ps must oppose the bill tooth and nail and defeat the ill-intended design of some politicians to drive a wedge between the Muslims and the Hindus. They want to play communal politics with an eye on minority votes. The corrupt politicians having stashed away lakhs of crores of money in foreign banks want to protect their black money. And for this they need to be in perpetual power. But in the wake of irretrievable price-rise, corruption and mis-governance there is no chance that they could hold on. Therefore the only option for them is to communalize the politics, create hatred among communities, ghettoized the Muslims and keep them in constant fear psychosis of the so called Hindu backlash. Down with communalization of politics.

The "Times Now" has rightly been ordered to deposit Rs 100 crore by the Supreme Court in a libel case.

I am great votary of freedom of expression and also an aficionado of the TV programme of Arnab Goswamy on the "Times Now" but certainly I do not subscribe to the view that the media be allowed to act irresponsibly.

I was myself targeted and defamed by four news papers of Patna. They are the Hindustan Times, Hindustan, Dainik Jagran, Aaj and Amrit Varsha all published from Patna. The PCI reprimanded them. A defamation suit is also pending against them in which notices have been issued a long time back but they have not replied or appeared so far.

Justice Sawant the Times Now victim belongs to a higher stratum of the society but the common men & women who are victims of scurrilous reporting are not so fortunate.

I strongly denounce yellow journalism. The reputation of innocent persons when damaged by the print and electronic media is hard to retrieve.

Four Hindu doctors have reportedly been killed in Pakistan in cold blood by some Muslim fundamentalists. We condemn it.
Our leadership failed even to send a message of sympathy to the bereaved families. Our government’s concern is the misleading Rajendra Sachar report, and hounding Narendra Modi. Vote-politics dictate the course of investigation.
Our role-model should be Israel besieged by enemy states from all sides which value the loss of its citizen’s life so much so that it punishes such forces with vengeance. Of course the doctors killed are not Indians nonetheless their killings must have been reacted to diplomatically and strategically as protection of the Hindus, Hinduism and preservation of primordial cultural heritage all over the world is the moral and humanitarian responsibility of Indian State. Unlike the Semitic religions the undivided India including Afghanistan has been the land of the origin of the Vedic Dharma i.e Hinduism a name given by mlechhas of Arab. The colossal Bamiyan statues of Lord Budhha were destroyed to rubbles by Taliban but our country could do nothing to punish them. A number of ancient Hindu shrines which date even prior to the advent of Islam and which were heritage of historical importance have been razed to grounds by Pak authorities. Even market complexes are coming up every day on the usurped and ravaged Hindu religious sites. And in India the Wakf boards are getting fattened under govt.patronage.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam has expressed his satisfaction over the three-layer safety measures erected in Kundankulam nuclear plant to ward off radioactivity leakage in the wake of any impending danger from earth-quake or tsunami. His inspection of the site and the evaluation of safety measures should assure the local agitating population that the disposal of radioactive wastes will not find its way into sea, ground water nor will it spill over in the environment. Atomic power is only panacea of huge energy requirement of the bourgeoning population. And the people shall have to reconcile themselves to this situation.

There is news that a Christian priest and seven others have been arrested by J&K police on charge of allegedly converting some Muslims after a mufti had issued summons to the Christian priest. This panic reaction has been triggered reportedly by the highest executive of the state. Now some very relevant and ominously disturbing trends are cropping up in J & K that need to be crushed with ruthless hands.

How an imam or a moulvi could dare issue summons? Who has allowed such fanatics and obscurantist to run Kangaroo courts on the soil of India? What are the elements that encourage infiltration from Pakistan and Bangladesh? Does the Indian political leadership want this country to be talibanised or is this passive about their anti national activities? What has it done to publicly and exemplarily punish the communal forces trying to run parallel administration? Why a weak and inefficient CM like Omar Obdullah has not yet been sacked for succumbing to Pakistan backed separatists? Why the Centre is pouring millions of dollars in to J & K that has resulted in massive corruption in the local politics? How could Pak leaders like Imran Khan and Omar be on the same page? Imran Khan says when Amerika can not tame Afganistan how can India control Kashmir with its forces. Imran should accept the reality that America devastated not only Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya but also instrumental to inducing regime changes in Egypt and Tunisia and also in other parts what is now coined as Arab Spring. Is Imran oblivious of daily Drone attacks inside Pakistan? Pkistan disintegrated into two parts in 1971 but this time it appears its parts will be countless despite its so-called nuclear arsenals.

The Union and the state governments must answer the above questions. It is the demand of the public at large that a permanent solution must be effected without delay. Our suggestions are that Omar be sacked forthwith to check demoralization in armed forces which are constantly sacrificing their lives while defending J&K. Aricle-370 of the Constitution of India must be abrogated. And lastly secessionism must be curbed with military powers. Dialogues can be fruitful  only  after the anti-national forces are vanquished completely.

An effective law should be enacted to punish those indulging in Conversion with death or life imprisonment

राग दरबारी एक कालजयी कृति है /श्री लाल शुक्ल ने उपन्यास-रचना को एक नई शैली प्रदान की /इस महान साहित्य शिल्पी को श्रद्धांजलि/

People are under immense pressure of price rise and inflation. The survival of the common mass is on the razor’s edge. Corruption and inefficiency of the Government is exacerbating the situation. The corrupt politicians, govt. servants, contractors, builders, and tax-evading community of big industrial and business houses are only segment of population that remains unaffected.

I am surprised that people are writhing in pain of penury. They have amazing forbearance of the harshest ever financial crisis but have not reacted the way the people of Greece and other countries of the western world have expressed their frustration. I have no option but to empathize with the govt. that has thrown up its hands in sheer helplessness.

Salman Khurshid's love for the corporate world

When Verappa Moiley was forced to make way for  Salman  Khurshid  people thought about a corporate hand behind the scheme. Now today the statement of Khurshid that the businessmen are treated harshly by judiciary particularly in respect of the grant of bail has explained the ousting of Moiley.

It appears Salman Khurshid is trying to influence the judiciary to go soft on Anil Ambani against whom accusations are gaining ground. It is also apparent that arrest of Raja, Konimozhi, Balwa and some officials of Anil Ambani’s group  and the attitude of the judiciary that has prompted  Dayanidhi Maran  to resign from the cabinet has not gone well with the govt.

Judiciary must be wary of the intent of the law minister. I think it will not return to the era of the troika of Shabharwal. Balkrisnan and Bhardwaj.

Gujarat IPS officers' unionism

Today I see an unusual news report about 35 IPS officers among members of Gujarat  IPS Association who passed a resolution disapproving legal action against Bhatt, their fellow officer facing legal and departmental proceeding. This is  not only a  misconduct but also a challenge to State and its law. If members of armed or police forces indulge in unionism then anarchy would prevail.
Why Bhatt remained dormant all these long 9 years and then became hyperactive by starting filing affidavits after affidavits at various fora of law? Even gangster like Sohrabuddin became a matter of his  belated compassion. If there has been any violation of Bhatt’s human rights by local police then it can not be justified by any logic. But what about the countless instances of violations of human rights of common people. Did the IPS association ever felt it proper to send a delegation of “three IPS officers” to victims’ homes. If that be the case, there would have been no need to constitute human rights commissions (white elephants) at national and state levels.
As the matter is sub judice let us hope Bhatt gets justice if he is really innocent.

Nehru’s imprudent China-policy

Two monks immolate themselves in Tibet for its freedom. What Nehru and the congress has done with regard to Tibet, through ages an independent nation, is now making  us live in constant danger of the belligerent China. A vast chunk of Indian territory in J&K is now under military occupation of China. It has been hostile to Arunachal as well and is posing danger to our economic interests in the Indian and the South China Sea. Nehru's blunders in Tibet and J&K have bled India terribly. Even at this belated stage India must declare Tibet as an independent state ,a buffer nation between India and China. We all support the Tibetans’ struggle for independence from China’s occupation. We also condemn the genetic destruction of the Tibetans’ ethnicity and deliberate adulteration of the religious-cultural identity of the native Tibetans.

Anna is no Gandhi

Anna Hazare has galvanized the sentiments of educated Indian people against corruption. His efforts are praiseworthy. I also appreciate the role played by members of Anna team in making the Union Government respond to the issue.
But Anna is deficient in harnessing restless mood of Indian people particularly the poor masses reeling under poverty, price-rise, corruption and above all extreme insensitivity of the Union and local governments. The salt on their wounds have been rubbed by Montek Singh Ahluwalia the dy.charman of so-called Planning Commission and the economist PM Manmohan Singh  who have made all the paupers rich overnight by empowering them with a wand of @Rs.26/day in villages and @Rs32/day income in towns. What a xandu balm for the poor!
Anna is weak man with limited acumen. Whenever Congress party attacks him he becomes nervous and tries hard to do some balancing acts like attacking the BJP or RSS. He lacks courage like Gandhi to call spade a spade. Anna’s wisdom is also questionable. If he goes on abusing all the parties then what would be the fate of the Lokpal Bill? He must realize that his crusade can not operate in vacuum and therefore he must bank upon the parties that are less corrupt and more patriotic.

Narendra Modi has shunned policy of appeasement

I am skeptical about Narendra Modi’s fast for goodwill and reconciliation in Gujarat, popularly known as Sabhavna upvas  . But I am full of praise for Modi for his courage to shun communal vote-politics which has been pursued by political parties religiously in order to steal a march over others among themselves. Modi declined to wear the Islamic skull-cap offered to him by an Imam. The political parties’ compulsion of appeasement to a particular religious minority is sometimes at the cost of harmony and national integrity. The result today we see around us is horrible. This love for minority can not be seen when it comes to protecting the minority communities like Kashmiri pundits in J&K, Sikhs in Delhi, linguistic minorities in Maharashtra, Bihar, U.P and other parts of India. They are subject to planned persecution. externment, genetic cleansing and forcible occupation of their houses at the hands of local goons supported by politicians.
Modi has spurned the move publicly to be part of a nasty game which today’s politicians indulge in. I fully endorse to the maxim appeasement to none and development to all.

Government discriminates against Kashmiri Pundits guided by vote-politics

There appears to be no human rights for Kashmiri Pundits. Recently I read an article by Minhaz Merchant. I was really indignant at the lackadaisical, discriminatory and heartless attitude of the Union Government towards the wretched plight of the Kashmiri Pundits. They have been forced to flee their hearth and home and are leading a life in misery at various places. I am relieved now that the Supreme Court of India has taken the cudgels following the preferred failure of the corrupt politicians. The Court has rightly questioned the illegal sale of the houses left behind by the pundits in fear of their life and honor. The sale deeds entered into under duress must be set aside and the homes must be returned to them. A criminal liability also rests with the state government that has failed to protect its citizens. Why only one dominant minority is pampered in India? What about Kashmiri pundits of J&K, Buddhists, Jainas, Sikhs and Christians? Where are pseudo secularists like Rajendra Sachar and the company shedding crocodile tears over imaginary discrimination with muslims? The BJP is also not serious on the issue otherwise in parliament itself it could have forced the already crippled government to provide for safe and honorable return of the Kashmiri pundits. The permanent solution of all the problems plaguing J&K is the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution. Let all Indians settle in J&K and lo & behold all Pak agents will nowhere be seen.

Madhya Pradesh Govt must punish the killers of Shehla Masood the brave woman RTI activist

I am aghast at the brutal cold-blooded killing of Shehla Masood the brave woman RTI activist from Bhopal. The M.P. government must bust the forest mafia, hunt them down and instill a sense of assurance in the hearts of the patriotic crusaders. If it fails to punish the killers then the govt. is bound to face the music the UPA-2 IS on Anna Hazare. I appeal to the Union govt. to intervene effectively in order to nab the mafia. The civil groups also should keep watch on the intent and action of the BJP govt. in M.P.
We all condemn the grisly killing.

citizenship of Balkrishna the deputy of Baba Ramdev

The Indian citizenship of Balkrishna the deputy of Baba Ramdev is under investigation now. I have pondered over the issue. I am a bit intrigued by the fact that a Hindu national of Nepal: our religious and cultural associate since Vedic times is not treated in this country at par with those coming from Pakistan or Europe and belonging to Semitic religions.
In recent times of terror being used as an effectively potent weapon against India, relaxing visa norms and allowing unchecked incursion of population from Pakistan, Pak occupied Kashmir and Bangladesh will prove suicidal to the security and integrity of India.
Everyday illegal migrants reach this country and disappear from the eyes of law enforcing authorities to act as terror agents aided by Indian sleeper cells at the behest of ISI like agencies. In areas of Assam, Bihar, Bengal and some other parts of the country touching borders of Bangladesh such foreigners are said to have acquired ration cards and voter IDs with politicians’ support. Politicians crave for power even at the cost of the security of the country. This tendency is dangerous.

USA repeatedly insults Indians

A young girl of an Indian diplomat Krittika was subjected to inhuman, atrocious, torturous and illegal confinement by US authorities for an offence committed by a Chinese. The US police have no courage to touch the criminal for fear of strong reactions from China. But it was bold enough to wreck and harass the innocent girl overstepping even diplomatic etiquette and immunity. This is the true face of democracy America propounds all over. Had we a tough leader we would have twisted the arrogant arms of the USA in the face of our economic prowess. Access to vast Indian market should be used as a strategy to make them respect our citizens. Militarily also the Americans must not err to club us at par with Pakistan. Our defence personnel are second to none. The problem is that we have not been getting inspiring leadership that is firm, courageous and that has respect not for itself but also for the people of this country. India is now called a soft state an euphuism for timid and demoralizing attributes. The leadership may be inapt but our people are brave and great

Pataliputra once ruled Abbotabad

Abbotabad in Pakistan has now become (in) famous for all the wrong reasons related to Osama Bin Laden. But I see the place through a different angle. This place is historically important to us as it has stone-inscriptions of the Ashokan era. This archeological monument stands witness to the fact that we ruled up to Afganistan including the picturesque Waziristan now cursed to house the barbaric Taliban and Al qaida terrorists.

Madri from now western Pakistan and Gandhari from Kandhar in Afganistan were wives of King Pandu and King Dhritrastra who guided the destiny of the territory. The famous Takshila (Taxila) was one the 16 provinces of Ashoka who ruled from Pataliputra.
The Ved-vani ( holy rendering of the Vedas) permeated the ambience of the area.

But alas! the enemies of humanity have defiled the serene, pure, demure and natural surroundings.

Shanti Bhushan should support draft-panel from outside

Serious allegations of acquiring wealth by Shanti Bhushan and his sons through illegal means have been leveled by Amar Singh. All of us are aware of the credentials of Amar Singh and Digvijay Singh, less said the better. It certainly aims at derailing people’s process to check corruption in public life and punish corrupt officers, politicians and judges. Naturally the reaction by the vested interests will be virulent and nasty. But it also pertains to faith of the people and therefore the allegations (NOIDA land deal appears to be cogent) need to be examined mainly on the following points:-

a. Under valuation of property of the Bhushans at Allahabad, Delhi and other places.

b. If any attempt was made to influence judges through various means as per purported conversation recorded in the CD.

c. Whether PILs were being filed by Prasant Bhushan for ulterior motive as alleged.

d. How two plots worth 30 crore were allotted to them? Can a common man be given two costly plots at a few lakhs?

e. Whether a lawyer in India charges 25 lakh/per appearance. Shanti Bhushan has alleged to have been paid by Amar Singh 50 lakhs for two appearances. Should be it true, can a common man ever get justice in the system? Will not the system collapse sooner than later?

f. Whether Bhushan canvassed for Saumitra Sen the judge facing impeachment.

All these questions must be solved as public trust is at stake and Bhushans must step aside. Otherwise there is every likelihood of them being victims of blackmailing and pressure tactics by the corrupt mafia. If they do not resign from the joint drafting panel they may be too demoralized to do justice to the people’s aspirations.

Many happy returns of the day

A war was waged almost a decade back by me against a section of corrupt bureaucracy, police, press and judiciary which still goes on. Very (a) few have stood by me. She has been one of them who supported me like the rock against a tempest. Today 11th April is her birth day. On this auspicious day I salute her grit and courage.

Stop worshipping false gods

The euphoria over Jan lokpal bill must not obscure harsh realities of history. We still adore false political gods responsible for the division of the country. The stupor of the false history needs to be dispelled. Stop dignifying the blunderers; a production of so-called progressive-propagandist history. True patriots like Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh and the like have been sidelined and the British sympathizers have been made to usurp pages of history.  By correcting history we will be correcting society and will remove timidity inherited from the failed leadership. we must have capacity to weed out traitors and the corrupt from the system.

Cricket World Cup 2011

We all praise the Indian cricket team for being world champion. But the unabashed distribution of crores of rupees among the cricketers and others is nothing but maniacally diabolical. The delirious step by union and state govts, in doling out money and plots from public exchequer is a crime against nation, The authorities must be punished for squandering poor country’s money on the cricketers who are already millionaires through ads & sponsorships of industrial houses. Are these cricketers national icons for the young generation? Their inebriated brawl in the Caribbean, orgies, dance & drama off field and yesterday filthy daru party in the Taj hotel Bombay to celebrate the win are some of the actions, the country must think about. The cricket body is itself  governed by corrupt political mafia. What message is there for the nation? Now Jharkhand govt is going to bestow PhD on Dhony. What a joke!

What has the govt done for developing sports potential in the country? Why do we lag behind US, China, Europe, Japan and even Iran in medal tally? The answer is we have excelled more in CWG scam than in sports. Why other forms of games and sports are not media-highlighted?

It is because the media barons chart course for the public intake. They first create hysteria in favor of cricket for days and then cram rubbish of commercial ads for public consumption. Who is CBDT to waive taxes on ICC and BCCI and individuals; already cash-rich bodies, doing huge business in India? Perhaps poverty and penury of people gives sadistic pleasure to the corrupt leaders.

Institutionalization of corruption in Indian polity

Goa education minister Atanasio Monserrate was reportedly detained at the Bombay airport for carrying illegally huge amount of US dollars as well as unaccounted Indian currency a couple of days back. It was also reported that the authorities were forced to release him on the phone call of a union minister. Now this helping hand need to be identified and prosecuted along with the culprit.

This is the conduct of a education minister whose son also faces rape-charge. A few months back the home minister of Nagaland was detained at Kathmandu airport for carrying big money. Instances of nabbing politicians for carrying black money especially during elections are now order of the day.

The shameless can not mend themselves. The UPA is simply incapable of governing the country. The ominous and somber part is that mafia has permeated everywhere. No institution appears to be safe from the virus.

Loss of morality, conscience and scruple; in politics and administration, has encouraged criminal acculturation of societal attitude.

Supreme Court of India Restores Integrity of CVC

(8th March 2011(http//blogs.siliconindia.com/drvijayeksaria)

My blogs "Check corruption or else the country will perish" dated 17th, October 2009" and “Bribe thrives with UPA" written 6 months back may be seen. At that very time I had discussed the role played by the PMO, Rastrapati Bhavan and others. Now the events turn out to be vindicating my stand. We all are indebted to the Supreme Court for salvaging the credibility of the CVC by removing Thomas and sending out a strong message to the country. The corrupt politicians who are criticizing the judgment in the name of corruption in judiciary or judicial activism must remember that this very court has already taken cognizance in a PIL relating to the Ex C.J Balkrisnan. In my 1st blog above I had cast doubt over working of the CVC. Now this apprehension has also come true as it has been revealed in the judgment that The CVC earlier had recommended major penalty proceeding against Thomas but in 2007 the same CVC albeit headed by another gave a clean chit to him.Now the govt. should review all such cases wherein clean chit might have been given to officers facing serious charges of corruption and misuse of authority, in partial manner during the period just before and in the tenure of Thomas

An open petition to the President of India Smt.Pratibha Devi Singh Patil

To

Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil

The President of Indian Republic, New Delhi

Subject- Action on the complaint referred to CAG of India vide letter No.P/A-61183 dated 20.6.2007

Revered Excellency,

I lodged a complaint dated 14.6.07 against the then CAG for illegally protecting the interests of an IA&AS officer, with the Excellency, having enclosed 25-page photocopies of the documents procured under RTI from the CAG office.

Strangely the complaint was referred by your Excellency’s Secretariat in a routine manner to the same authority against whom the complaint was made. I was not even informed of this until 21.9.07 when I sought information under RTI Act.

It was not an ordinary matter requiring routine and mechanical transmission of the complaint. It was a serious complaint made against a public authority holding an autonomous-constitutional post answerable to the President only.

The records showed that the then CAG actively glossed over the misconducts of the officer Shri R.K.Verma despite strong evidences provided repeatedly by me. The CAG breached the sanctity of the solemn oath of office sworn by him as prescribed by the Constitution.

During the hearing of the case No.CIC/WB/A/2008/00309 on 4.9.09 the CPIO of the President’s Secretariat recorded his statement before the Hon’ble Chief Information Commissioner that the complaint was never submitted before Excellency, no order came from the Hon’ble President and up-to-date status of the complaint remained the same as it was on 20.6.07, that is, no action.

Now this is the fate of a public grievance on corruption and misconducts awaiting action for more than past 4 years.

I, therefore.request the most respected Excellency through this open petition to take decisive action.

Yours faithfully

Dr. Vijay Kumar Sinha

Insurmountable courage of the Japnese

Nature's cruel devastation of Japan has not deterred the hundred odd technicians, scientists, pilots and others to court certain death in order to secure life for the rest of the people. They have been into the nuclear plants to cap the spill of the radiation. No words can describe their valour. It is a tribute to indomitable spirit of the human race agaist untramelled vagaries of nature. I salute their supreme sacrifice.

Sibal has no respect for Parliament

The news today “Raja stashed Rs.3000 crore abroad under wife’s name” makes Kapil Sibal vulnerable to the breach of privilege proceeding by Parliament for claiming that there was no loss to the exchequer, attacking CAG report, prejudging the 2G spectrum scam thus breaching privilege of Parliament {JPC) and for protecting the interests of Raja as his advocate on the floor of the house. Role of Sibal should also be examined.
The whole lot is rotten. Har sakh pe ullu baitha hai, anjame gulistan kya hoga.

Appeal to the Maoists to set Krishna the Malkangiri Collector free.

If the abductors of the Malkangiri Collector R.V Krishna think that by resorting to such criminal acts they can overthrow the Indian democratic system then certainly they (the Maoists) live in fool’s paradise.

But if they think that the system is corrupt, inefficient, unjust, emaciated and ramshackle then undoubtedly they have a valid point. They should appreciate that there are a few honest and dedicated people in politics, administration and judiciary as well because of whom the system somehow saves itself from being failed or dysfunctional. And such people being in the rare-endangered species category must not only be protected but also encouraged.

Krishna had consciously ventured into the forbidden territory to monitor welfare schemes meant for the poor tribals without security at the sure peril of his life only to conquer hearts. Such people must be encouraged. I appeal to the Maoists to set him free.

Bihar State Human Rights Commission should not hobnob with violators

I saw with disbelief if not horror a news-item published today in an English daily informing about the participation of the Chairman and Member of the State Human Rights Commission Bihar in a training programme for SIs in the human rights. The news paper cited two IPS officers as notable resource persons in the programme. One has been himself the violator of human rights during his postings at Patna as DIG and IG in the RJD jungle raj. A full-fledged inquiry could never be conducted against him because of a nexus among all the pillars of the system. I have detailed in my blog “NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION a drain on public exchequer, an (un)necessary evil” about the nature of the powerful connections enjoyed by such officers in today’s corrupt and hypocritical society.
The human rights authorities must keep themselves away from the company of elements whose track-record of human rights has been horrible

Save Patna Gandhi Maidan

I have learnt from a news-item that Bihar Govt. is going to install a 40 feet high statue of Gandhijee in the middle of the Gandhi maidan. Why are the homo sapiens out to ravage the natural settings of the maidan which is the only life-line for the breathless Patnaites? Even Gandhijee would have opposed the concretization of the maidan. A decade back damage had been done by putting concrete structures just in the middle. I urge to restore the lush green pristine ecology of the park so that morning walkers and children roam and play about all round without obstruction. Dismantle all concrete heaps in the name of Mahatma Gandhi. A true tribute to Gandhijee will be to spare installing concrete representations of man and animal on people's money and take care of the impoverished masses. Will the corrupt society do this?

Sibal attacks CAG report on 2G spectrum

Sibal has disputed the amount of revenue lost in the 2-G spectrum scam. Sibal’s objection is with regard to the amount of 1.76 lakh crore arrived at by the CAG taking into the probable price, the spectra would have fetched had there been an transparently open public bidding. The CAG has used various methodologies to come to some categories of figures of govt. money lost on account of the criminal culpability of the Minister and others.
I am relieved that he has at least admitted that the scam has not devoured as much money as the public exchequer watch-dog had thought it to be.
By advancing misleading arguments one might have succeeded in securing favorable verdicts. But truth always pricks the conscience.
His skillful argument that NDA did the wrong by following the policy of first come first serve and so the UPA also looted the money in the same fashion, is appalling Let there be a thorough effective probe into the whole gamut and no one should be protected.
But Sibal has bruised his credentials.
