Complete failure of Constitutional machinery in Jammu & Kashmir.
Today one popular English daily has carried alarming news
about the Jehadis, Mujahidins and separatists getting into the bureaucracy,
police and judiciary of the state of J & K. If the terrorists have permeated
the organs of the government then it is possible only with tacit support of the
Farooq govt. and the State Public Service Commission. This is the reason that the
secrecy of any police or military operation against the terrorists reaches
across the border beforehand causing heavy causality in terms of life and resources.
There is complete failure of Constitutional machinery in
Jammu & Kashmir.

V.S Naipaul is a colossus and Girish Karnad is a trifle
Girish Canard created a raucous in an award giving ceremony
in Mumbai a day before yesterday that was organized to felicitate one of the
greatest littérateurs of our time Sir V.S Naipaul the Nobel Prize winner for
literature. It is utterly disgraceful for us that a man perhaps hired by some
vested interests has tried to insult a much respected worldwide acclaimed foreign
writer of Indian lineage on Indian soil.
Karnad is critical of the narration "the Taj Mahal conjured
for him the toil, sweat and blood that had gone into this vain construction, a
monument to death and the memory of a tyrant". This is a historical fact
attested to by many historians. The construction had gone for more than two
decades at a massive cost. It was the saga of exploitation and ruthlessness to
celebrate perverted notion of love by a cruel king. The masons’ hands were
chopped off in order to prevent them from erecting another mansion of similar grandeur.
While
the physical form of the mausoleum is a beautiful piece of architecture; the intrinsic
spirit within is that of tears, blood, helplessness and forced labor of the
unfortunate subjects of an alien ruler.
Karnad’s lack of knowledge or may be his selective amnesia of
the historical accounts made by a number of the English or Indian
historians about the all-out, united and
resolute Muslim attacks on the Vijay Nagar empire culminated into its ruination,
is an stark reality. Does he know what Malik Kafur did even much
before?
Karnad has further charged Naipaul with being anti Muslim for his statement that "the construction of a mosque by the first mogul emperor at Ayodhya was an act of hubris". It is again a archeological truth that Ayodhya was a pre-historic religious site whereas the Islam came into being in the sixth century A.D. Obviously Naipaul has been quite correct. Moreover Naipaul’s entire family except him is Muslim even his adopted children are Muslims. Can we find such a religiously tolerant man as Naipaul in India or outside?
Karnad has through his histrionics catapulted himself in
media glare by abusing a person of world fame. I hope he is rewarded by the
dispensation of the day at least with Bharat Ratna for which he did all this consciously.
Perhaps some persons have empathy with the alien aggressors because of their genome adulteration. Today ‘Indian secularism’ stands for discrimination in favour of one particular community much less against Sikhism, Christianity, Buddhism or others. Because they are not significant in the vote-politics. The killers of the Sikhs in 1984 are still at large.
People must be wary of such biased secularists and so-called progressive historians and thespians thriving on govt. largesse.

Nitin Gadkari must quit party post
Nitin Gadkari the BJP president must resign to salvage the party image which claims itself to be a party with a difference. The allegations of malpractices need to be dispelled and for a fair inquiry his resignation is a prerequisite.
But unlike the UPA and particularly the Congress, Gadkari has repeatedly asked for an extensive inquiry. The governmental agencies under the UPA have certainly failed to curb pseudo companies and unlawful trade practices by proxy entities. Crony capitalism is the biggest malaise today.

Tinker Not With RTI Act 2005
The Prime Minister’s statement to constrict the scope and
objective of the R.T.I Act 2005 does not auger well with the democratic notion
of transparency in governance. He has also found fault with the most important provision
of the Act that bars the P.I.O to question motive of the information seeker.
Recently the judiciary also has put a wide range of
restrictions on the flow of information debilitating provisions of the Act. After
initial success in effective implementation of the inchoate legislation under
the then Chief Central Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah, now after 7
years all the organs of the democracy except the Press have been trying hard to
throttle the Act.
In Bihar also the inaugural dispenses of information under
Justice S.K Singh at the state commission were quite satisfactory. But with the
appointment of Ashok Chaudhary at the helm, the transparency law became a
liability rather causality.
We find today that all the state actors across the board; the
states, the Centre or the judiciary are not very enthusiastic to part with information
as sought for by people.
The credit goes to the RTI Act that scams and scandals are
being exposed every now and then and there is fear in the mind of the public authorities for
doing wrong.
The need of the hour is to put the Act in the 9th
schedule of the Constitution vide Art.-31B.

GANDHI-NEHRU POLITICAL LEGACY A BURDEN IN PERSPECTIVE OF HARD INDIAN REALITIES
The Air Chief marshal of India N.A.K
Brown has stated recently that Jawaharlal Nehru the then P.M
did not permit the air force to bombard Chinese positions in 1962 war
for fear of more fierce offensive by China. This fact is not new. Our country
has been governed by timid (if not cowardly) leadership barring Shastri, Indira
and Vajpayee. The result has been terrible for us and we lost lakhs of sq.miles
of Indian territories in the north and the northeast. Now China stages
intrusions almost every day into our borders. It has installed infrastructure,
military equipments and immense manpower accretions in the Pak-occupied
J&K. Our borders are in constant danger of being violated as no matching
military facilities have yet been put in place to counter any outside
aggression. The Chinese bellicose and imperious attitude continues to be a
challenge with wide international ramifications for our national interests. Gandhi-Nehru
legacy has bled this country profusely. The communal bifurcation of the country
on the basis of so-called two-nation theory and lackadaisical, ineffective,
inadequate and belated response to Pakistani invasion of J&K in 1948 is the
genesis of today’s social disharmony, communalism and terrorism.
Still we adore and lionize Gandhi and
Nehru as national Heroes who comprised a failed leadership.
It is high time the distorted history
authored by vested interests over the years gave way to impartial accounts of historicism.
